Indiana Reports 1,256 COVID-19 Cases, 20 Additional Deaths Friday

The Indiana Department of Health reported 1,256 new COVID-19 cases and 20 confirmed deaths Friday, bringing the state totals to 688,916 cases and 12,662 confirmed deaths.

Friday's update from IDOH shows a positivity rate of 4% for the second day in a row.

Currently, there are 697 Hoosiers hospitalized with the virus across the state.

In Monroe County, officials reported 24 new cases and no new deaths Friday. 

Monroe County’s totals are now 10,978 cases and 166 deaths. The county’s positivity rate remains at 0.9% for the fourth day in a row, and area hospitalizations are at 23.

And according to a news release from Indiana University, IU Bloomington students, staff and faculty will soon be eligible to receive a vaccine through a clinic exclusive to the IU Bloomington community. 

IU Bloomington community members will receive an email in the next few days with more details about the clinic, which will administer the Pfizer vaccine as early as next week.
