Indiana officials reported 1,159 new positive COVID-19 cases and five more deaths Saturday.
The latest numbers from the State Department of Health brought the overall COVID-19 death toll to 12,667 and the total state case number to 689,965.
Health officials reported 33,657 new tests, bringing that total to just over 9 million. The 7-day positivity rate was 4.1%, with 10.5% of unique individuals testing positive.
In Monroe County, health officials confirmed 28 new cases Saturday, bringing the overall county total up to 11,002. The death toll remained the same at 166.
County officials reported 2,788 new tests Saturday and 458,958 since the pandemic began. The 7-day positivity rate was 1%, with 8% of unique individuals testing positive.

Bloomington’s main vaccination site at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall will open for a second week on Monday, with thousands more Hoosiers set to be vaccinated.
The state is pushing to vaccinate college communities on a wider scale, and Bloomington has been selected as one of the first communities to participate.
"They’ve increased our allocation for next week, so we’ve been able to receive this additional number of doses," said Kirk White, IU’s head of COVID-19 response.
White said about 780 people were vaccinated last week, but the university expects to receive more than 7,000 additional doses next week; most are reserved for students and faculty.
Instructions on scheduling those appointments will be sent through university email lists. The Assembly Hall site still will operate during its normal days for the general public this Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
Next week, Indiana will loosen COVID-19 restrictions by ending the mask mandate and relaxing public gathering size limits.
Individual counties, however, may enforce their own restrictions. Monroe County already has done so by keeping the mask mandate in place, as well as by maintaining public gathering size limits of 50 people and private gatherings of 15 people.
