Kilroy's On Kirkwood To Reopen This Weekend After Year Closure

Bloomington bar Kilroy’s On Kirkwood announced it would reopen this weekend, after closing last year due to the pandemic.

The announcement posted to their Instagram account Tuesday says that all patrons must book a table ahead of time on LineLeap to avoid crowding and lines at the entrance.

Masks will also be required when patrons are not seated. No bar service will be available, and patrons must remain in the group they made reservations with.

The bar announced in October that it would be reopening to offer reservation-only service for IU football's first game day of the season, but then canceled those plans. In a Novemebr statement on Facebook, Kilroy's ownership and management said they had conferred with the city and decided to delay reopening until after the New Year.

Kilroy’s Sports on North Walnut Street reopened in February with similar health and safety measures.

The Tuesday announcement states the bar missed celebrating graduation with IU students last year and did not want to be closed for 2021 IU graduation.

Many other bars popular with students have been open with reduced capacity since last May.
