Monroe County Has Fully Vaccinated 43,000+ People Against COVID-19

Monroe County administered 1,846 second doses and 757 first doses of the two-shot Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, plus 32 single-shot doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in the last 24 hours.

As of Thursday, 33.9% of Monroe County's population over age 16 has been fully vaccinated and 47% has received at least one shot.   

In total, 43,341 people have received full doses of COVID-19 vaccines in Monroe County.  

Across the state, IDOH reports 41,920 more people have become fully vaccinated, with more than 1.8 million Hoosiers now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.  

IDOH also reported 1,406 newly confirmed coronavirus cases statewide and 11 more deaths from COVID-19 Wednesday. Those deaths raised Indiana’s pandemic toll to 12,913 confirmed coronavirus-related deaths. 

In Monroe County, officials reported 27 new cases and no new deaths, bringing the county total to 11,693 cases and 167 confirmed deaths. Area hospitalizations remained at 27. 

As of Thursday, 890 Hoosiers were hospitalized with COVID-19 across the state.
