Founded by the Pope family in the 1970s, the Carmel Corn Cottage in Nashville, Indiana started out only serving two types of popcorn.
But when Jim Rispoli bought the place in 1999, he expanded the shop to what it is today.
Maple popcorn, kettle popcorn, buttered popcorn, candied popcorn, bacon popcorn and even pickled popcorn are some of Rispoli’s creations. The cottage burned down in September of 2020, but as Jim says, “a disaster turned into a blessing.”
After receiving a grant from the town of Nashville, the Carmel Corn Cottage was rebuilt from the ground up.
“The only thing old in here is me,” says Jim with a laugh.
