Indiana Reports 571 New COVID-19 Cases, 13 Deaths Friday

Health officials in Indiana reported 571 new COVID-19 cases and 13 new deaths Friday.

The Indiana Department of Health’s latest numbers showed 13,179 total confirmed deaths and 742,910 positive cases since the pandemic began.

The seven-day positivity rate is 4.8% Friday, down from 4.9% Thursday, and 767 Hoosiers are hospitalized with the virus.

The state has also administered more than 5.1 million vaccine doses, and nearly 2.5 million Hoosiers are fully vaccinated.

In Monroe County, health officials reported six new positive cases and no additional deaths. County officials have reported 12,048 cases and 172 deaths since the pandemic began.

Monroe County's seven-day positivity rate is 2.9%, down from 3.1% Thursday, and 18 people are hospitalized with the virus in Monroe County-area hospitals.

The county has conducted 551,985 tests for the virus.
