Indiana Reports 405 New COVID-19 Cases, 5 Deaths Friday

Health officials in Indiana reported 405 new COVID-19 cases and five new deaths Friday.

The Indiana Department of Health’s latest numbers showed 13,244 total confirmed deaths and 746,135 positive cases since the pandemic began.

The seven-day positivity rate is 4.2% Friday, down from 4.5% Thursday, and 652 Hoosiers are hospitalized with the virus.

The state has also administered more than 5.2 million vaccine doses, and more than 2.5 million Hoosiers are fully vaccinated.

In Monroe County, health officials reported six new positive cases and zero additional deaths. County officials have reported 12,093 cases and 174 deaths since the pandemic began.

Monroe County's seven-day positivity rate is 3% Friday, up from 2.9% Thursday, and 23 people are hospitalized with the virus in Monroe County-area hospitals.

The county has conducted 553,665 tests for the virus.
