Rain Gives Way To Sunny Holiday Weekend

The thunderstorms and showers of this week and last week are finally breaking apart for a sunny weekend. Beginning today, clear skies will stick around through Monday night, leaving us with perfect weather for the Fourth of July.

Despite the clear skies, the heat will be back soon. Highs will approach 80 degrees Friday, heat up to 88 by the Fourth of July, and into the low 90s by the beginning of next week. Tuesday is expected to be the warmest day of the week, before temperatures slowly decline again. Lows will stay in the 60s for most of the weekend.

With the increasing temperatures, heat indices may reach into the mid 90s. Know the signs of heat exhaustion, especially in elders and children, if spending the weekend outside.

Practice safety precautions with fireworks if celebrating the holiday Sunday.
