Man Recovered From Lake In Greene County Identified As Linton Resident

The body of a man recovered from Midland Lake in Greene County has been identified as William P. Hendrix of Linton, Indiana.

According to a statement from the Indiana DNR, the cause of his death is pending autopsy results.

Greene county dispatch received a 911 call July 18 of a person struggling in the water. A Jasonville Police Officer and Clay City firefighter found Hendrix unresponsive in the water and brought him to shore.

He was first brought to Greene County General Hospital and then flown to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, and later pronounced dead.

His identity was previously withheld pending family notification and investigation with the Indiana DNR is ongoing.
