Monroe County Sheriff Investigating Officer Driving Unmarked Police Car While Intoxicated

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Deputies pulled over on unmarked police car early Monday morning just south of the Kinser Pike overpass.

Deputies received reports that the Dodge Charger was speeding and “moving all over the roadway” on Interstate 69.

They were dispatched to the area just after 2 a.m.

Deputies identified the driver as Brian Joseph Hedger, a police officer with the Cadiz Indiana Police Department, who lives in Plainfield.

The deputies began an operating while intoxicated investigation, and got a search warrant for Hedger’s blood. Toxicology results are pending.

Deputies took Hedger to the Monroe County Jail on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a previous conviction (a Level 6 Felony) and resisting law enforcement (a Class A Misdemeanor).
