Judge Lance Hamner Picked To Oversee Case Against Vauhxx Booker

Indiana Chief Justice Loretta Rush has assigned Johnson County Superior Court Judge Lance Hamner to oversee the state’s criminal case against Vauhxx Booker.

Booker was charged late July for his involvement in last year’s incident at Lake Monroe after restorative justice talks between him and his alleged attackers fell apart.

In an order filed Thursday, Rush said Hamner was assigned the case in the interest of judicial economy – Hamner is already overseeing the criminal cases against Sean Purdy and Jerry Cox, who Booker says jumped him and threatened to lynch him.

Booker’s attorney, Kitty Liell, had filed a motion earlier in the month objecting to sending the case to Hamner, but it became moot after all of Monroe County’s criminal court judges recused themselves from the Booker case.
