The Department of Health reports more than 470,500 Hoosiers have been tested for the virus, and 9.5% have tested positive.

A drive-through COVID-19 testing site is opening in Monroe County next Tuesday.

The new site will be located on Cook Medical property at 500 N. Profile Parkway. It will open each week between Tuesday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Monroe County Health Department administrator Penny Caudill said the new site will offer PCR tests, with results delivered by 5 p.m. the next day. Rapid antigen tests and COVID-19 vaccines may be added in the future.

"They will be working to secure a more permanent site for the duration of their time here that will be an indoor facility," she said.

Caudill said the new site is being opened in partnership with the Indiana Department of Health and Gravity Diagnostics. It will take the place of the former community COVID-19 testing site on Morton Street.
