A new COVID-19 testing and vaccination clinic opened in Ellettsville Wednesday.
The site in the Ellettsville Christian Church parking lot at 731 Independence St. will be open between noon and 8 p.m. through Oct. 9.
"They have Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccine available," Monroe County Health Department administrator Penny Caudill said. “And they have PCR and rapid antigen testing available.”
Caudill said Monroe County’s COVID-19 metrics remained steady over the last week, meaning the county can move down to the “yellow” advisory level.
She expects a small decrease in the county’s percent positivity and cases per 100,000 people over the next week.
“Our average, rolling average of cases is about 30 per day,” she said. “So, we want to see that number continue to drop as we go forward.”
Additionally, Caudill said 60 percent of Monroe County residents are vaccinated, with more than 1,000 receiving a booster shot.
