As of Friday morning, 596 City of Bloomington employees have submitted proof of their COVID-19 vaccination status, according to the city’s communications director.

Yaël Ksander said that makes up just over 64 percent of their regular full and part time employees.

Over the summer, the city announced it would offer $100 incentives to employees who showed proof of vaccine.

In June, Bloomington mayor John Hamilton said more than half of the city’s 1,000 employees had opted in for the cash reward.

Ksander said the city is reimbursed $50 for every employee covered under the city’s health insurance plan through AIM medical trust.
