Indiana University hosting joint flu & COVID vaccine clinic next Sunday

Indiana University will host a joint COVID and flu vaccination clinic next Sunday, Nov. 7.

The clinic will be held at Assembly Hall from noon to 5 p.m. It will offer free flu shots, along with all three doses of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine, including boosters. Those attending need to sign up beforehand.

“We're seeing many people get their booster doses at this time,” said Monroe County Health Administrator Penny Caudill. “We want people to get their boosters, but it is not as urgent as it is for those who have not gotten any vaccine yet to start.”

Boosters are available anywhere one can get an initial dose. State Health Commissioner Dr. Kris Box said Thursday anyone who wants a booster shot is free to get one. She also urged Hoosiers who haven’t been vaccinated against COVID to do so as we head toward winter and an expected virus surge.

Caudill said there would be no issue with getting a COVID and flu shot at the Assembly Hall clinic.

A list of COVID vaccine clinic locations is available on the state health website.
