City reports record COVID positive employees for second week in a row

The City of Bloomington reported 20 new COVID-19 cases among employees this week. That tops last week's count of 14 for the most weekly cases reported since the pandemic began.

None of this week’s cases or last week’s cases were linked to previous COVID-19 cases at the city, according to a Thursday press release. No members of the public were exposed to the virus during city employees’ course of work, according to the city.

A breakdown of where the cases came from:

Parks and Recreation Employees: 4

Bloomington Police department: 3

Utilities: 4

City Hall: 1

Fire Department: 3

Transit: 3

Public Works: 2

This bring the total since the pandemic began to 194.
