A 20-person clinical team from the U.S. Navy will remain at IU Health’s Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis into next month, according to a release.
IU Health has relied on support from the state’s National Guard in recent weeks at more than a dozen of its hospitals. However, this deployment is different.
It’s made possible through a federal deployment via an emergency request from FEMA.
The state’s largest health system says it is leveraging “all available resources” to support patient care. The Navy’s team is integrated into existing medical units and the emergency department.
