Monroe County confirmed 176 new COVID-19 cases Thursday, bringing its pandemic total to 26,305. Thursday’s count is the most recorded this week.
Two new deaths were reported. That brings the total to 252.
In District 8, which includes Monroe, Brown, and Bartholomew counties, 144 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, up from 136 Wednesday. About 51 percent of ICU beds are occupied by COVID-19 patients and 16 percent of beds are still available.
The county’s seven-day positivity rate is 21.6 percent, down from 21.8 percent Wednesday.
State
The state confirmed 6,615 new cases, bringing its total to 1,642,625.
The state also added 57 new deaths, meaning 20,856 Hoosiers have died from COVID-19. Currently, 2,567 people are hospitalized around the state.
The state’s seven-day positivity rate is now 26.2 percent, down from 27.3 percent.
Where to get a walk-up COVID-19 test in Monroe County
The Indiana Department of Health announced Tuesday all state-run clinics would close at 5 p.m. Wednesday due to the winter storm. Thursday schedules for sites south of Johnson County will be based on weather conditions. For additional updates, visit the state’s COVID-19 dashboard.
