The county also reported no new deaths Friday. In total, 266 county residents have died from COVID-19.

Monroe County will remain in a red advisory level this week with 175 cases per 100,000 people. However, the county appears in the orange level on the weekly 2-metric score map.

“We must remain at a lower metric for two weeks before moving down,” Monroe County Health Department outreach manager Kathy Hewett said.

The county’s seven-day positivity rate for last week was 10.1 percent, which is down from 18.4 percent the previous week.

“The week before that, it was 22.5 percent,” Hewett said. “And at 10.1 we just missed the cutoff for the yellow [weekly 2-metric score] level which ends at 9.99.”
