Monroe County reported 12 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday and five Monday. The new cases were reported to the state between Jan. 17 and Feb. 28. In total, 27,391 county residents have tested positive since the pandemic began.
No new deaths were reported. The county’s seven-day positivity rate is now 5.3 percent, down from 5.9 percent Monday.
In District 8, which includes Monroe, Brown, and Bartholomew counties, 37 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, down from 44 hospitalizations Monday. It’s the lowest hospitalizations have been for the area since Aug. 1 when there were 34.
State
The state confirmed 532 new COVID-19 cases, which were reported to the IDOH between Nov. 15 and Feb. 28. In total, 1,682,222 Hoosiers have tested positive since the pandemic began.
The state reported 37 additional deaths, bringing the total to 21,990. The state’s seven-day positivity rate is now 6 percent, down from 6.3 percent Monday.
Across Indiana, 792 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized. This is down from 818 hospitalizations Monday. Tuesday’s hospital census is the lowest count since July 29 when it was at 755.
