Monroe County reported five new COVID-19 cases Monday. The new cases were reported to the state between Feb. 25-27. In total, 27,379 county residents have tested positive since the pandemic began.
No new deaths were reported. The county’s seven-day positivity rate is now 5.9 percent.

In District 8, which includes Monroe, Brown, and Bartholomew counties, 44 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, down from 50 hospitalizations Sunday.
State
The state confirmed 313 new COVID-19 cases, which were reported to the IDOH between Feb. 22- 27. In total, 1,681,685 Hoosiers have tested positive since the pandemic began.
The state reported no additional deaths, leaving its total at 21,953. The state’s seven-day positivity rate is now 6.3 percent.
Across Indiana, 818 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized. This is down from 834 hospitalizations Sunday.
