Monroe County reports 3 new COVID-19 cases

Monroe County 

Monroe County reported three new Monday, down from 15 reported Friday. Though the county has reported fewer than 10 daily cases multiples in the last nine months, this is the lowest count since July 10 when the count was two.  

The new cases were reported to the state between March 4 and March 6. In total, 27,453 county residents have tested positive since the pandemic began.  

No new deaths were reported. The county’s seven-day positivity rate is 3.1 percent, down from 4.3 percent Friday. 

In District 8, which includes Monroe, Brown, and Bartholomew counties, hospitalizations are up to 27 COVID-19 patients from 21 Friday. 

Indiana 

The state confirmed 182 new COVID-19 cases Monday, down from 497 on Thursday. The new cases were reported to the Indiana Department of Health between Jan. 2 and March 6. In total, 1,685,176 Hoosiers have tested positive since the pandemic began.   

The state reported no additional deaths. In total, 22,118 Hoosier have died from COVID-19. The state’s seven-day positivity rate is now 4.1 percent, down from 4.9 percent Friday. 

Across Indiana, hospitalizations are at 590 COVID-19 patients. That’s the lowest they’ve been since July 21 when they were at 551.
