Monroe County reported 10 new COVID-19 cases Friday, down from 11 on Thursday.
In total, 27,491 county residents have tested positive since the pandemic began. No new deaths were reported.
The county’s seven-day positivity rate is 3 percent as of Friday, up slightly from 2.9 percent Thursday.

In District 8, which includes Monroe, Brown, and Bartholomew counties, hospitalizations increased from 17 on Thursday to 23 on Friday.
Indiana University
Indiana University reported 20 new cases this week, 14 of which were students.
Chief health officer Aaron Carroll said he expected IU to see a bump in cases after spring break next week but the university is not too concerned.
“It’s not a surge in the sense that it’s exponential growth that continues for some time,” he said. “It’s usually a bump and then everything usually returns to normal.”
He added: “It’s also important to recognize that lots of other places in the United States and elsewhere are very safe right now as well.”
Friday’s news conference was the last bi-weekly call between City of Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana University, and IU Health leaders.
Indiana
The state confirmed 320 new COVID-19 cases Friday, down from 391 on Thursday. Nearly 1.7 million Hoosiers have tested positive since the pandemic began.
The state also reported 37 new deaths, which occurred between Jan. 6 and March 10. These push the state total to 22,262 deaths.
The state’s seven-day positivity rate is now 3 percent as of Friday, down from 3.1 percent Thursday.
Across Indiana, 522 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized as of Friday, up from 505 hospitalizations Thursday.
