Monroe Co. confirms 7 new COVID-19 cases

Monroe County

Monroe County reported seven new  COVID-19 cases Tuesday, up from three Monday. In total, 27,511 county residents have tested positive since the pandemic began.    

No new deaths were reported. The county’s seven-day positivity rate is now 2.6 percent, down from 3 percent Monday. 

In District 8, which includes Monroe, Brown, and Bartholomew counties, hospitalizations remained steady at 17 COVID-19 patients. 

Indiana  

The state confirmed 261 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, up from 137 Monday. In total, 1,687,591 Hoosiers have tested positive since the pandemic began.   

The state reported 15 new deaths, which occurred between March 6 and March 13. In total, 22,286 Hoosiers have died from COVID-19.

The state’s seven-day positivity rate is now 2.8 percent, down from 2.9 percent Monday. 

Across Indiana, hospitalizations dropped to 446 COVID-19 patients Tuesday from 467 Monday.
