Incumbent Indiana Senator Todd Young (R) made a stop on his Southern Indiana tour to speak with Indiana University students about confronting antisemitism.
Young appeared at one of IU’s Jewish student organizations, the Helene G. Simon Hillel Center, and spoke to around 25 students representing Antisemitism Prevention Task Force and Hoosiers for Israel.
The Republican addressed recent incidents of antisemitism such as sacred symbols being torn down, swastika vandalism and antisemitic posts on student forums.

Young took questions from students and stayed after to meet with students. Young said he was impressed with the student’s knowledge and encouraged for the future of the country.
“I wanted to send a message of solidarity, so that the people here, and as importantly, to the folks back home.” He said Monday night. “So that they know that Indiana – all communities- should be welcoming places.”
Hillel was Young’s third Southern Indiana stop Monday. Earlier in the day, he visited with One Southern Indiana in Jefferson and presented a bronze star medal to a Vietnam veteran at American Legion Post 335 in Charlestown.
Young is up for re-election this year. The Republican has held the seat since 2017.
