Amy Swain wins Democratic nomination for Monroe County Recorder

Cranor, who served as the Chief Deputy recorder for the county for the last seven years, received 4,007 votes.

Swain said the recorder is a public servant role and legal go-to for property transfers in the county. She said she wants people to feel comfortable coming to her with questions.

“Since people don’t necessarily buy and sell homes on a frequent basis, it’s something that they may only have to come into our office once or twice in a lifetime,” Swain said.

White ran unopposed for the Republican nomination.

Eric Schmitz, who has held the position for the last seven years, was limited to two terms and cannot run again.
