Indiana’s Trayce Jackson-Davis announced Friday he has withdrawn from the 2022 NBA Draft and is returning for his senior season in the fall.
The 6-foot-9 All-American forward averaged 18.3 points and 8.1 rebounds a game last season, helping lead the Hoosiers to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016.
Jackson-Davis entered the draft after the season, but did not hire an agent, keeping open his option to return to the university. He tested positive for COVID-19 last week and was unable to compete at the NBA’s combine in Chicago.
“The opportunity I had to work on my game for the professional level was something that was invaluable as I continue my growth as a basketball player,” Jackson-Davis said in a statement. “However, I am looking forward to returning to Indiana to be with my coaches and teammates and building off of what we accomplished at the end of the season. There are goals I have for our team and for myself individually on the court, but at the end of next year more importantly, I will be proud to say I am a graduate of IU.”
Jackson-Davis is 15 th on IU’s all-time scoring list with 1,565 points and is ninth all-time in rebounds with 797. He’s been an all-Big Ten selection in each of his first three seasons.
Indiana finished 21-14 last season under first-year head coach Mike Woodson.
