Bloomington police want help with Wednesday homicide

Bloomington police are looking for information to help identify the shooters in a Wednesday morning homicide.

According to a news release, officers responded to reports of gunshots in the 700 block of South Clarizz Bloulevard at 5:55 a.m. They found an unoccupied apartment with the rear door kicked in, but no victim. After searching the area for more than an hour, officers located a deceased 20-year-old Bloomington man in a heavily wooded area west of the apartment complex. He had multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, confirmed as the cause of death by the Monroe County coroner. Toxicology results are pending.

The apartment’s resident later reported to officers that two unknown, masked gunmen forced their way into the apartment and forced the resident out prior to the shooting.

BPD is asking anyone with more information to contact Det. Wade Berry at (812) 339-4477.
