The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) began daytime lane closures to replace sidewalk and curb ramps at the intersection of S.R. 46/Third Street and College Mall Road in Bloomington on May 23rd.
Crews will work on the west side of the intersection during the first phase of construction, then work on the east side during the second phase, according to a press release.
All ramps will also be updated to current ADA standards.
In April, an $828,000 contract was awarded to Crider and Crider, Inc. The work is expected to be complete by July 30.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions and consider worker safety when traveling through active construction zones, according to the press release.
All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.
