The Brown County Circuit Court has waived juvenile jurisdiction for a 17 year-old resident in the death of another teen Wednesday.

The court found that the teen had been charged with acts that, if they were committed by an adult, would be involuntary manslaughter and reckless homicide, both Level 5 felonies, according to a court document.

Under Indiana law, a juvenile case can be moved to adult court for certain crimes, including involuntary manslaughter and reckless homicide.

While the evidence presented did not demonstrate intentionality, the court found that the teen was under the influence of methamphetamine when Lentz was shot and could be a significant danger to community members.

Therefore, the Court waived the case to adult court.

The teen will be held at the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center.
