This 3 bed, 2 bath, 1800 square foot home is on the market for $298,000.

Wininger Construction showcased its new Westscott smart home outside the west gate of Crane on Friday.

The homes are the first in a planned series of developments at Crane Technology Park. All houses are equipped with a gigabit fiber connection as well as an array of smart home technology including smart locks, motion detectors and more.

Cullen McCarty, executive vice president of Smithville Communications, said the strong internet connection will allow new talent to move to the area.

“It enables these high salary engineers who work here at Westgate or the base to have that ability to work from home, if need be” he said.

McCarty went on to say this is just the start of a period of expansion for the area.

“This is a great opportunity for folks who do work at WestGate,” he said. “We're gonna see a lot of growth here in eastern Green County over the next several years.”

Tom Wininger, a third-generation builder with Wininger Construction, wants the homes to be able to go to those that never had the opportunity previously.

“I hope we can reach out to young people who are first time buyers and they can have an opportunity to own a home,” he said.

The 1,450 square foot, three bed two bath models sell for $243,500, and the 1,800 square foot, three bed two bath models sell for $298,000. Future spots can be held for $2,000 down and a pre-approval letter.
