At 3-5, Indiana football fans already may be looking to next year. And Wednesday, the Big Ten gave them a glimpse of what that may look like when it released the 2023 schedule.

Indiana will open the season at home Sept. 2 against a team it hasn’t beaten since 1988 – Big Ten powerhouse Ohio State.

That’s followed by three straight non-conference games – Indiana State Sept. 9, Louisville Sept. 16 and Akron Sept. 23. The Louisville game will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, while Indiana State and Akron will play at Memorial Stadium.

Indiana resumes its Big Ten schedule Sept. 30 at Maryland, then, after a bye, alternates road and home games the rest of the season, culminating with a Nov. 25 date against Purdue in West Lafayette.

The 2023 season will be the last before USC and UCLA join the Big Ten in 2024, pushing the league to 16 schools.
