Bloomington resident Jonas Schrodt says he’ll file as a candidate for one of city council’s at-large seats.
In his campaign announcement, Schrodt, 38, said he believes city government should provide more resources for addiction services and homelessness.
“We should provide support and assistance to every resident, especially those in need,” Schrodt said.

As a member of Bloomington’s LGBTQ+ community, Schrodt said he’d bring important representation to the council.
In addition to working at his family-owned Brown County Winery, Schrodt serves on the executive board of the Hoosier Trails Council of the Boy Scouts of America, teaches martial arts to children and performs at the Comedy Attic.
Schrodt will compete for the at-large seat vacated by Susan Sandberg. Three of city council’s nine seats are at-large, meaning they’re eligible for anyone living within the city limits.
