Educators rally, jail death lawsuit, Putnam County landfill | Indiana Newsdesk

Educators from across the state packed the statehouse Thursday demanding legislators prioritize public education and address teacher shortages. Lawmakers are also considering bills regarding how teachers can talk about human sexuality.

The estate of a man who died in 2021 while in custody of the Jackson County Jail has filed a lawsuit against the jail. Josh McLemore was one of two inmates to die in custody in 2021.
