May 2, 8:15 update:
Unofficial final results released by the Monroe Co Clerk at 8:15 p.m. show Kerry Thomson winning the Bloomington mayor’s primary race.
With 100 percent of the 47 precincts reported, Thomson finished with 3,444 votes. Susan Sandberg was second with 2,644 votes and Don Griffin third with 1,924 votes. A total of 8,012 votes were cast, including 4,497 on Election Day.

More than 4,100 Bloomington residents have voted as of 5 p.m. in the Democratic Primary today, surpassing the number of early voters this year.
Just over 3,200 voters cast their ballots early to decide on the candidates to represent the party for mayor and city council in the fall election.

Monroe County Clerk Nicole Browne said the busiest polling sites have been Bloomington High School South, Sherwood Oaks Christian Church and Election Operations.
Voter Thomas Dunham retired to Bloomington last August to be close to his grandchildren. He said school safety was one of his concerns.
“Community wise, it's, it's lovely place,” Dunham said. “I'd like to see a little bit more work done for the homeless. And I'd like to see, you know, a little bit of traffic control issues.” READ MORE: Here’s who’s running for Bloomington City Council
Bloomington resident Marie Lawrence said she’s concerned about affordable housing.
“We are seeing a lot more apartments coming up to help tackle homelessness, but my concern is whether or not those apartments are really going to be affordable for the people who need them,” Lawrence said.
Voters have until 6 p.m. to casts their votes.
Absentee ballots must be received by the county election board by 6 o'clock tonight.
