Incumbent Isabel Piedmont-Smith has won the nomination for the District 1 seat on Bloomington City Council.
Piedmont-Smith has served three terms on the council and currently represents what used to be District 5.
She ran on issues including affordable housing, child care, food security and health care initiatives. She said she wants to follow through on plans to address climate action, transparency in city government and strengthening the local social safety net.
Piedmont-Smith ran against Joe Lee, a longtime Bloomington Herald-Times cartoonist.
