Former Indiana University football player Connor Delp was arrested Monday on two felony charges of rape and a felony charge of sexual battery and battery.

According to a report by the Bloomington Police Department, the charges stem from a Nov. 11 incident at Delp’s Bloomington apartment where two women reported being sexually assaulted by him.

Delp, 20,  was suspended by the football team Nov. 17 and dismissed from the team in January.

Both women told police they had gone to Delp’s apartment, where the three and another male spent several hours drinking. At about 3 a.m., the two women joined Delp in his bedroom to play video games.

One woman reported that after her friend had fallen asleep, Delp raped her despite her telling him “no.” According to the report, her friend awoke and reported she, too, was sexually assaulted by Delp.

Delp reportedly told police the sex was consensual and that he was never told “no.”

Delp’s attorneys released a statement Tuesday that said: “Connor Delp has a constitutional right to be presumed innocent of the criminal charges that have been filed against him. There are always two sides to every story. Connor Delp intends to vigorously defend against these charges in the appropriate forum — the courtroom."
