Lake Monroe graves, Catalent layoff, Canadian wildfires | Indiana Newsdesk

Coming up on  Indiana Newsdesk:

When Lake Monroe was created in 1960, the army corps of engineers tried to relocate all the cemeteries in the area. But did they miss some graves? The town of Elkinsville and part of Paynetown were razed to make room for the lake.

Catalent’s layoff of 150 people last week likely means the pharmaceutical manufacturer won’t receive tax abatements from the City of Bloomington.  The tax abatements would be worth around 30 million dollars over their lifespan.

And we talk with an expert about the effects of the wildfires in Canada, whose smoke is blanketing the northeast and even reaching Bloomington.

Those stories and the latest news headlines from across the state, Friday at 6 on  Indiana Newsdesk.
