A Bloomington man has been arrested in connection with a shooting Friday night  that left one man hospitalized.

According to a Bloomington Police Department news release, police responded to several calls of multiple gunshots fired in the 2600 block of South Madison Street around 10 p.m. While on the way to the scene, a 911 call reported a man had been shot and was lying in the driveway of a residence in the 100 block of East Willow Court.

Upon arriving at the Willow Court address, police located a 34-year-old man with multiple gunshots. Apparently, the man had been shot at the South Madison address and had driven himself the mile-and-a-half to the Willow Court residence. The man was transported to an area hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery and is listed in stable condition.

Officers located eight spent 9mm shell casings near the intersection of South Madison and West Watson streets. After interviewing several witnesses, police believe the victim had driven to South Madison. There, he got out of the car and began arguing with the suspect, identified as Quentin R. Farmer, Sr., 47,  of Bloomington. Witnesses said Farmer drew a handgun from his waistband and began shooting at the victim, who was able to get into his car and drive off.

Farmer fled but was located by an officer patrolling the area of South Madison Saturday night at about 9 p.m. and taken into custody without incident.

Farmer has been charged with attempted murder, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and criminal recklessness.
