Atrium at West Baden Springs closed indefinitely due to hail damage

The domed atrium at West Baden Springs Hotel is closed indefinitely after sustaining hail damage in Sunday’s storms.

The dome structure is made up of numerous glass panels, and hail shattered several of those.

While the atrium area is closed, the hotel is still open for guests. That includes all the shops, restaurants and spa.

The hotel said in a statement that the atrium will remain closed until repairs can be completed. The hotel didn’t release an estimated date for when that might happen.

The Pete Dye Golf Course at French Lick also sustained hail damage.

The course at French Lick  was named "Course of the Year" in 2017.  The course hosted the  Senior PGA Men's championship in 2015 and the Senior LPGA Championship in 2016.

Three tornados touched down in Indiana Sunday: in Martin, Johnson and Monroe Counties. One person was killed and another injured in Martin County. Dozens of structures were damaged across the three counties.
