Bru Burger Bar is scheduled to open in downtown Bloomington this November.
Marketing Director Carissa Newton said construction delays of the mixed-use development “The Annex” on the corner of Third and Grant streets pushed their schedule back.
“I think the Bloomington market is certainly a really, really positive market, especially with the college town, and just the community surrounding it,” Newton said.
Other locations include South Bend, Evansville, Lafayette and Indianapolis. She says a Bloomington location has been requested for years and is excited to open before the holidays.
“Our recruiters are working within the community with all of the schools," Newton said. "The universities use a platform called Handshake. So we will post our jobs, if there are openings available.”

She said they hope to feature a Bloomington burger, maybe by means of a customer contest. The location plans to have outdoor seating.
Grant Street divides The Annex into two buildings. Bru Burger will be in the east building. A Coffee Beanery was approved in the west building this past week. The owner has an agreement to sell Cold Stone Creamery products as well.
