New city officials will be sworn in on New Year's

Newly elected Bloomington officials will be sworn in during a public ceremony at City Hall on New Year’s Day.

The event will take place at noon in the City Council Chambers at 401 N Morton St.

Bloomington’s newly elected mayor, Democrat Kerry Thomson, will enter office following her unopposed run in the general election.

Several new members will join the Bloomington city council, including Hopi Stosberg, Isak Asare, Andy Ruff, Shruti Rana and Sydney Zulich.

City Clerk Nicole Bolden said the public is invited to witness the ceremony. Bolden, who also won reelection this year, will officiate the event.
