Bloomington police are looking for a suspect who shot and killed a man behind Wheeler Mission Tuesday afternoon.
A release from BPD indicates officers responded to a 911 call that a man had been shot. Bystanders pointed the officers to a wooded area behind Wheeler Mission on South Westplex Avenue.
Officers located a deceased 52-year-old man inside a tent with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. Monroe County coroner Joani Stalcup identified the man Wednesday as Curtis Butler of Bloomington.
The report says individuals in the area heard multiple gunshots. As of Tuesday evening, no arrests have been made.
Police say it’s believed the victim and shooter knew each other.
