Performances coming to Bloomington for the solar eclipse

Janelle Monáe, William Shatner and Mae Jemison are coming to Indiana University Memorial Stadium to celebrate the solar eclipse on April 8.   

Monáe is a Grammy-nominated singer and an actor who played a NASA mathematician in the 2016 film Hidden Figures. Shatner is an Emmy and Golden Globe winner perhaps best known for his role of Captain Kirk on Star Trek.   

Jemison is the first woman of color to travel to space, the press release said.  

Monáe will perform right after the solar eclipse.

There will also be performances by the Marching Hundred and BFA students. IU alumnus will also perform at the event.

Tickets are $15 for students and $19 for the public.
