The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information to find who’s responsible for a former Bloomington man’s death.

James Stewart, 42, was found dead around 1 p.m. Feb. 24 from a gunshot wound in his camper near Lafayette Avenue in Oolitic.

Stewart’s sister, Sarah Stewart, said he recently moved to Oolitic.

“James was from Bloomington and lived there almost his entire life,” she said in a social media post. “He had only been in Oolitic a few months when this happened.”

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Detective Andrea Barnett at the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, 812-275-3316, or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
