IU protester demands, STEM research focus effect on humanities, primary election | Indiana Newsdesk

As the protest at IU against the war in Gaza stretches into its third week, we take a look at what exactly the protestors want from the university. Protesters also demand the resignation of IU president Pamela Whitten and two members of her administration.

As universities turn their focus – and dollars – into STEM and research, departments such as arts and humanities are feeling the effect. Enrollment in the English department at IU has dropped by two-thirds over the last decade.
