City of Bloomington, county to begin collecting tree debris July 8

The City of Bloomington will collect tree and vegetation debris from last week’s storm beginning Monday, July 8th.

The city has partnered with Williams Tree Company of Martinsville to collect debris for a two-week period from homes within city limits.

Residents are asked to pile debris near the roadside but out of right-of-ways. Requests for collection can be submitted through a UReport at bton.in/storm.

Residents can also drop off debris in the parking lots next to the ball fields at Lower Cascades Park on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Residents must show an ID to use the drop-off service.

For more information, please contact the City of Bloomington at 812-349-3400.

The county also announced it will pick up tree debris by township on the following schedule:

  • Perry Township - July 8-12
  • Van Buren Township - July 15-19
  • Clear Creek Township - July 22-26
  • Richland Township - July 29-Aug. 2
  • Salt Creek Township – Aug. 5-9
  • Polk Township – Aug. 12-16

County residents are asked to place the debris curbside before the first day of scheduled pickup.
