The City of Bloomington and Downtown Bloomington, Inc. are bringing a new interactive public art installation to the Fourth Street Parking Garage

The prism-based piece by artist Esteban Garcia Bravo is called PRISMA. The city calls it an immersive light installation that creates an open-air tunnel with a free-flowing animated lighted experience.

Bravo created PRISMA for the 2023 Exhibit Columbus architecture biennial, in which Bloomington partnered.

The city said the piece’s installation will continue Bloomington’s partnership with Exhibit Columbus and is meant to bolster a sense of community for residents and visitors.

An installation ceremony will be held from 9 to 10 p.m. Friday at the south alley of the Fourth Street Garage. It will feature music by local DJ Ian Sundstrom and live performances organized by The Back Door

Bravo’s other artwork, Aurora Almanac, is featured in the Trades District Garage.
