County extends debris removal dates by week

Monroe County officials have extended to dates to pick up tree debris from last month’s storm for a week.

The county hired a private contractor to begin picking up debris last week by township, beginning with Perry Township. But due to the amount of debris, pickup in each township will be extended into the following week.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Perry Township, July 8-12
  • Van Buren, July 15-19
  • Clear Creek, July 22-26
  • Richland and Bloomington, July 29-Aug. 2
  • Salt Creek, Aug. 5-9
  • Polk, Aug. 12-16

The county said the contractor will continuing picking up debris until it has all been removed.
