Boil advisory in northeast Monroe County

Many people in Benton and Bloomington Townships are under a boil water advisory until at least Thursday.

B & B Water Project provides water to almost 1,900 customers in the townships. On Tuesday, it reported a 10-inch water main break, affecting all those customers. This is separate from the county-wide boil advisory that ended Monday.

The water provider said customers have experienced low water pressure or dirty water.

“The brown water is sediment that gets stirred up from the main break,” according to B & B Water Project.

B & B recommends that customers flush cold water in their bathtubs if they notice discolored water.

The water provider said it hopes to remove the boil advisory Thursday.
